With Minnesota able to cut it to a two-possession game at 64-60 with 42 seconds to go, Murphy rolls out of a ball screen. Ferrell is keeping an eye on it:
The pass is to his back side and he’s trying to secure it with just one hand. Here comes Ferrell leaping in for the steal:
He knocks it loose and secures it:
Ferrell comes sprinting down the court:
He looks to head back up top and perhaps kill some clock, but he came down so fast Minnesota’s defense is waiting for IU players to come down the court and they occupy all the space. So Ferrell decides instead to streak right:
He’s by Dupree McBrayer and he’s got room to the rim:
As he goes in for the layup, it looks like he may be met at the rim:
But the defense goes by him and he puts it in to give Indiana the six-point advantage:
Again, Ferrell got it done on the defensive side of the ball and took matters into his own hands here on offense for the bucket.
