Here’s the Hoosiers back in man. After Jones passes to Ingram on the right wing, Jones moves a bit towards Marshall Plumlee who potentially could be setting a pick:
Despite all the room Blackmon Jr. actually has to follow Jones on the perimeter, Jones just ends up sliding a little left. Despite this, Indiana’s sophomore guard decides to drop down and go in between Plumlee and Bryant. This effectively gives Jones the separation he could could have gotten with a back pick:
From there Jones has room to fire and hit the 3-pointer as Blackmon Jr.’s route to the ball is long and slow:
Perhaps Blackmon Jr. was worried about Jones cutting down to the rim behind Plumlee and he felt this was his path of least resistance. But he had plenty of room to stick over the top with him. And by choosing to go between Bryant and Plumlee, he pretty much set a pick on himself:
