    This. Must. Stop.

  • Speed

Holy Cow! Seems like this team is out of control!

  • Alex

I really miss the days of Hulls, Watford, Elston, Oladipo, etc. The team could really use those high character guys right now.

  • Hoosier Hall

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeez, cmon with some good news already!

  • Speed

Anybody out there who has a couple of years eligibility might apply

  • Speed

I suggest we all forget basketball and football and concentrate on IU soccer!

  • bailey22

    HIGH Character Guys….

  • IULaw10

Stan and Troy just poured gasoline on the dumpster fire that is IU basketball.

  • OhioHoosier

    Just sickening, selfish acts.

  • Jonny McClain

we better bring back Sampson to clean this program up… Lol

  • ATG08

Maybe I should take a breath before I write…but I am gonna go for it. Folks, that “6th Banner” isn’t coming anytime soon. First step will be getting back to respectability. I’m gonna eschew the more inflammatory rhetoric right now, and just say what a disappointment for the program. I don’t expect these kids to be angels, but there has to be some decorum of accountability between the staff and players, as well as between the players themselves on the team. That apparently is nowhere in sight at this juncture.

Tighten those seat belts, friends. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride. Go Hoosiers (I guess).

  • CreamandCrimson

Welp, I don’t want to say anymore…it seems like every week brings a new bad news story. I’m beyond playing the blame game…some of these players don’t respect their teammates, their coaches or the opportunity they’ve been given and I think it may unfortunately cost this staff their jobs. I hope we have a good season and guys stay in line but the odds on that look longer everyday.

  • bailey22

This is not IU, we have more actual documented proven guilty problems with our players than Sampson/Davis combined. This is not the Indiana basketball way. I’m ashamed of what this program has become. I have loved IU since I was old enough to understand basketball and this is not it. It genuinely breaks my heart.

  • Court Storming Hoosier

Another day, another bad IU news story. This is comical.

  • Court Storming Hoosier

Don’t forget about those pingbats! Show some baseball some love!

  • INUnivHoosier

  • cooper

I don’t really care if the smoke weed I’m more disappointed they are stupid enough to get caught multiple times.

  • Bud Jenkins

When it rains it pours…. They better go 32 and 0 otherwise not sure people will forget…

  • Benhyoung14

    Isn’t this Stan Robinson’s 2nd offense?

  • Brad

What this team lacks is player leadership. There is, apparently, no one stepping up to get this crap under control. The coach can only do so much. The players have to police themselves, and no one is taking on that role. So disappointing. We can kiss yet another season goodbye before it even starts.

  • Bill Teague

Pomeroy called. Wants his 26 back

  • Zeisloft’s Zoloft

Hey, mom and dad. Let your son come play at Indiana, we will take good care of him. What do we say now?

  • Court Storming Hoosier

Good thing Dan Dakich got his rant out of the way earlier…

  • bailey22

This is the problem with our program and programs around the country… You don’t care just don’t get caught… Are you freaking serious!?!?!?!

  • Drew

I don’t know how much more bad news I can handle right now. When I first saw it on twitter, I was thinking that this suspension would last well over 3 games. Hanner and Peter missed out on 9 games for a lot less. Is the NCAA not involved in this decision then?

  • Speed

Where do you go from here? I’m not sure that the Pope could whip this team in shape.

  • Rosco73

Where do we go from here? Do we continue the season and just fight through till the end? Or do we take disciplinary actions now against the team and coaching staff?

  • ForeverIU

Okay, someone tell me, are these drug tests randomly done or according to a schedule, or were drug tests administered as part of the recent investigations?

  • FinEndNow

Crean is going to get a lot out of this one. Yikes!

  • Speed

Good question. If tests are randomly done during the season then these players are just plain stupid or really arrogant.

  • Court Storming Hoosier

Seriously! How dumb do you have to be to get caught “multiple” times? WTF did they think was going to happen once they caught the first time? This level of stupid is unfathomable.

  • ForeverIU

I’m wondering if there’s normally a set schedule but the recent events required tests that were not previously scheduled.

  • ForeverIU

Hoosier fans, before you cry like babies, maybe this is better, exorcising all our demons before the real games start.

  • At least he could coach

  • Bk39

    Well heads are certainly spinning.

  • FinEndNow

Nothing good will come out of this. This hurts our national perception and greatly hurts our recruiting. What parent would let their kid go to Indiana right now?

  • ForeverIU

After all of this is said and done, IU might be the ONLY place in the nation where such improprieties never take place, LOL!

  • cooper

I live in the real world. Don’t do it myself but don’t think it’s all that big of a deal. The fact they are either a) that brazen or b) that stupid is far more troubling.

Wish they show some of that brazen attitude on the court instead of with a bong.

  • g_bo

Its random, lived with a football player during time at IU…NCAA administers and School, schools random (if I remember right, could have changed)…Pretty sure after 1st offense you are tested more frequently…Act of arrogance and stupidity on their parts being caught more than once.

  • Hoosier1158

That is part of the issue with the large number of players leaving the last couple of years. No senior leadership. But obviously some of the team do not realize what an honor it should be to play DIV 1 basketball.

  • Brad

    I agree.

  • FinEndNow

They NEED to be random if they aren’t.

  • FinEndNow

I sure hope so. This is just embarrassing.

  • Dagwoods

  • Hoosier1158

I would think the testing is random, or the players would know when they can’t indulge in other activities?

  • Zach

Absolutely ridiculous. I’m embarrassed to be a fan right now. These players are worse behaved than a Kindergarden class. Often programs have to find a balance between high character kids and kids that will win you basketball games and the best programs find both. We have neither. The absence of accountability and leadership is disgusting. If these guys don’t appreciate the opportunity they’ve been given, take it away from them. I won’t stand here and have them ruin everything we’ve built back up.

  • FinEndNow

I am honestly embarrassed to be an IU fan. I wasn’t even this embarrassed after Sampson left. I wasn’t this embarrassed after Creans first 3 seasons. This is awful. I don’t even know what to think of it all.

  • ForeverIU

If they are random, then it surprises me we don’t hear about more college players getting caught. Or are weed smokers really the exception?

  • legalize it. enough with these retrograde puritanical laws. a guy has one beer and gets cited, and these guys smoke a little something…and everyone throws a fit. These guys are not the problem, Indiana’s reactionary laws are the problem. Criminalizing non-violent behavior, that for all intents and purposes is considered normal by the vast majority of Americans…why is this still happening?

Guess which state is the ONLY one in the US that prohibits citizens from buying alcohol on Sunday? Not even Utah is that backwards.

  • FinEndNow

Time to just start drug testing everyone once a week. I don’t care how much it cost. I don’t care who gets suspended. Time to end it. If people have to start being kicked off or fired then so be it. I’m going to support my Hoosiers… but it is going to be hard.
