Waynesville (Mo.) forward Juwan Morgan is one of Indiana’s top recruiting targets in the class of 2015 after a strong summer with MoKan Elite in Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL).

The 6-foot-9 Morgan has already taken an unofficial visit to Bloomington and was watched diligently by the Indiana coaching staff in all three July evaluation periods.

Here’s a look at some of Morgan’s summer highlights:

I’ve never seen him play a full game and I only have what I’ve read/highlight videos to go off of so I can’t make an entirely formed conclusion. Having said that, I happen to think Juwan Morgan is a really good fit for our system and if I were asked to pick one player that I think will end up signing with IU from the 2015 class, I would pick Morgan (not saying he’s the best player in this class, just that I think he is the guy most likely to sign with IU).

He appears to be a legitimate 6’9″ and he has pretty good length. I’ve read he is a really good athlete (which is obvious in the video) that runs the floor really well and has a real feel for how to get the ball on both offense and defense (rebound+put back/block shots). I think CTC would prefer that his power forward be able to hit an open perimeter shot and I don’t know if Morgan can do that right now but that’s certainly something that can be developed. If we sign two or three players in the 2015 class (as ITH is projecting) and it’s some combination of the most recently mentioned guys (Morgan, Milton, Marshall, Kenny Williams, McQuaid and Mitchell), I think the much-scrutinized 2015 class will end up being a pretty good success.

Saw this kid play against Indy Spiece in the Peach Jam. He is athletic..quick off his feet and has a nice touch around the basket. If he’s 6-9..IMO its because he has a two inch Mohawk. Needs a lot of body work for college. Because of foul trouble..he had to guard Caleb Swanigan (IU target) and really got pushed the paint.. Very thin..but..very fluid. He is not the five IU needs..but could be effective at the four or tree position from what I saw.

    Has something of Troy?

Probably not as overall athletic as Troy..but a smoother game vs. Troy in H.S
