On the Hoosiers’ ensuing possession, Vonleh posts on the right block and is open, but Ferrell opts not to toss it to him. Vonleh puts up both his hands as if to say “what the heck”. Vonleh then looks for Gordon to pop up on a cross screen and again seems a bit frustrated that he’s not immediately coming as he waves his hands to come through. On a ball screen and roll after falling down, Vonleh gets open. But Ferrell’s lob is too far to the right side of the rim and it’s a turnover:

IU’s next couple possessions didn’t feature Vonleh and he’d hit the bench at the 8:18 mark. The freshman returned with 6:21 to go and left the game for good with 1:39 left. With the Hoosiers chasing a lot of points, possessions didn’t last long, and Vonleh didn’t get opportunities.

Here he is looking for the ball with just under five minutes to go and Yogi opting not to give it to him:

The second half played out much different than the first for Vonleh. An early third foul and an Indiana team out of sync offensively — and one that left him hanging on a couple occasions — meant he’d finish the game with just five points and four field goal attempts.
