Film Session: Evan Gordon’s run

II. After a substitution, two smaller players are marking Vonleh and Luke Fischer as Gordon curls around on an inbounds play:

Gordon receives the ball from Sheehey:

Here’s where the Golden Grizzlies start to go wrong. Vonleh sets a pick for Gordon:

Gordon uses the screen and then passes to Troy Williams up high near the halfcourt. Here’s Mondy again — who had been guarding Fisher — instructing a teammate to now mark Gordon:

For a split second, Mondy looks like he’ll retreat back to cover Fischer once more, but he abandons that idea and instead turns his back to him, plants in the lane and looks squarely at the ball:

With two players now stopping the ball and Fisher drawing the weakside D, Gordon claps and calls for the ball:

Wide open, he steps in and hits his second 3-pointer:
