Williams out of the right corner

With the Blackbirds in a 1-2-2 zone, a defense they played for most of the second half, the Hoosiers run some weave-like action on the perimeter with Vonleh and Fischer in the high post:


The ball eventually finds its way to Troy Williams, as Gordon is looping around and down into the left corner. IU’s big men have moved to the low post:


From here, the moving Gordon gets the ball and Fischer moves to the top of the key after setting a pick for Troy Williams — which he uses to run through the paint and then flank out to the right corner. Fischer gets the ball. Five Blackbird defenders are pinched up near his area, leaving space for Sheehey and Williams on the weak side:


Fischer swings it to Sheehey, who then swings down to Williams. The freshman has space:


The Blackbirds never seriously commit on a close out, never get up in the air on his shot, and he’s able to drop it in to tie the game:
