Q & A: Garrett Green talks about Indiana visit
Indiana welcomed 6-11, 230-pound LSU transfer Garrett Green to Bloomington this weekend for a visit and Inside the Hall caught up with the potential 2011-2012 roster addition for a Q & A on Saturday afternoon:
On the visit to Bloomington:
“It was fun. It was a really good experience and I liked the guys. I played with them a little bit in some pickup and toured the facilities and the town. It was good. I liked it all.”
On what he learned going through the recruiting process the first time that he’s applying now:
“Just making the best decision for your future. I guess not getting caught up in the excitement of things and just focus on what your main goal is and what you’re trying to accomplish. And for me it’s an education and grad school so I’m just trying to not lose sight of that and that’s what I’m focusing on.”
On what he learned about the academic programs at Indiana:
“We went to a couple of the grad schools and we narrowed it down to two that really struck my interest and that I was pretty excited about. I haven’t decided which one yet, but IU has a lot of academic support and we spent close to 45 minutes to a hour just going over different grad schools and programs.”
On Cook Hall and the facilities at Indiana:
“It’s amazing. I was watching a couple of the highlight reels of games and the atmosphere, the fans that are there, it’s amazing. If you were to compare it to anything in the SEC, it would be like a Kentucky. Really good fans and I was excited.”
On potential visits that he may take to Long Beach State or San Diego State:
“It’s a dual visit — Long Beach State and San Diego State. I was going to knock both of those out. And Wichita State.”
On a timetable for a decision:
“I’ll be graduating August 5 on stage (in Baton Rouge) and I hope to have a decision by then.”
