One name that may be new to IU fans on the 2012 recruiting radar is 6-7 Durham (NC) wing T.J. Warren. The Garner Roads forward has offers from several high majors and spoke to Inside the Hall and The Herald Times about his recruitment after hitting a game-winning 3-pointer at the Kentucky Hoopfest:

It would be a good idea if you're the coach recruiting a guy to make sure he knows your name, I would think.

  • Well at least he mentioned Indiana twice among the schools that are recruiting him. Seems like another well spoken young man!

As long as he didn't say Coach Senderoff….

Seemed like he gave a lot of the usual generic answers. He may have mentioned IU twice but he couldn't tell them the name of ANY IU coach. The kids playing the recruiting game these days know that the answers they give and the names they say need to relate to whatever team the person interviewing them mainly covers and I'm sure those types of things are established before the camera starts rolling. He said he would like to take a visit to Btwn but I will be very surprised if that ever happens regardless of who is footing the bill. Somewhere in the not too distant future when we have more of the rebuilding process completed I will take someone like this kid a whole lot more seriously but as of now I just don't see anything else coming of the scholly offer that was made to him. Plus living where he does this is all just something for him do to pass the time until he sees if UNC, Duke or one of the other ACC schools he likes will offer him. When and if they do he will not only not know any of the names of our coaches but it will be, 'Indiana ??'.

I've seen this kid play multiple times. He is strong and he's great at getting to the basket and finishing. Also has a nice outside stroke.Would love to have him at IU.We could use someone like him to market the program.btw:Anyone heard of a Sean Deniton kid??.Seen him play this weekend He's tough..Went for 30 games in a row.Class of 2011?
