Neosho County Community College (Kan.) forward Freddie McSwain said Monday night that his top two schools are Kansas State and Indiana and that he plans to make a decision following his upcoming visit to Bloomington.

The 6-foot-6 forward visited Kansas State over the weekend and has a visit to Indiana scheduled for April 18-20.

Indiana coach Tom Crean watched McSwain work out on March 29 and offered him a scholarship the same day.

“We’ve been talking for a while,” McSwain told Inside the Hall shortly after receiving an offer from Indiana. “They are a great coaching staff. They’ve been telling me they love my game. They told me I don’t know how good I really can be and they believe in me.”

According to Neosho’s website, McSwain averaged more than 14 points and eight rebounds per game this past season and shot 54.2 percent from the field.

A native of Hinesville, Georgia, McSwain was named the Region VI tournament MVP as a sophomore at Neosho and was also named first team All-KJCC and first team All-region.

McSwain had listed five schools – Auburn, Bradley, Indiana, Illinois State and Kansas State – as recently as March 31, but is now focused on the Hoosiers and the Wildcats.

Indiana does not have a scholarship open currently for next season, but that could change if Troy Williams decides to stay in the NBA draft or another player opts to transfer.
