IU football picked to finish third in Big Ten in a pair of preseason media polls

Ahead of Big Ten media days in Chicago this week, two preseason media polls have been released with projected league standings for the upcoming football season.
Indiana, which won the Big Ten and the CFP national championship last season, has been picked to finish third in both polls.
The Big Ten does not release an official preseason media poll with the league’s projected order of finish, so the USA Today Sports Network and Cleveland.com solicit reporters for their picks.

Last season, Indiana was picked to finish sixth in the Big Ten by both polls.
In addition, the USA Today Sports Network released preseason awards and All-Big Ten teams. Several Hoosiers were represented.
Linebacker Rolijah Hardy was named preseason Big Ten defensive player of the year and quarterback Josh Hoover was named preseason Big Ten newcomer of the year.
Wide receiver Charlie Becker, offensive lineman Carter Smith, defensive lineman Tyrique Tucker, Hardy, linebacker Isaiah Jones, defensive back Amare Ferrell and kicker Nico Radicic were all named to the preseason All-Big Ten team.
Earlier this summer, the Hoosiers were picked to finish third in the Big Ten by Phil Steele, second by Athlon Sports and third by Lindy’s Sports.
