Notre Dame defensive lineman transfer Joshua Burnham commits to IU football
Notre Dame defensive end transfer Joshua Burnham has committed to IU football, he announced on Sunday evening.
A 6-foot-4, 260-pound junior from Traverse City, Michigan, Burnham has one season of eligibility remaining.
Over his career for the Fighting Irish, Burnham played in 40 games and made 15 career starts.
He totaled 65 tackles – 17 for a loss – as well as six sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in his time at Notre Dame.
Burnham also played a special teams role for the Fighting Irish.
Out of high school, Burnham was considered a four-star recruit nationally by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN.
In Notre Dame’s CFP win against Indiana in 2024, Burnham started and had two tackles and a quarterback hurry.

Played in all 12 games… made four starts… recorded 16 tackles – 10 solo and six assisted… third on the team with six tackles for loss… posted three sacks… had one pass breakup and two quarterback hurries… logged two sacks in the win at Pitt… tallied a sack and three solo tackles at Boston College
AS A SOPHOMORE (2024)
Played in 14 games for the Irish… started ten games… recorded a career-best totals of 30 total tackles and 16 solo tackles… posted 6.5 tackles for loss with two sacks… added three quarterback hurries and a pass breakup during the year… forced a fumble… had a career-high two tackles for loss in the National Championship
AS A FRESHMAN (2023)
Played in all 13 games, making one start on the defensive line … Totaled 18 tackles, 10 solo … Racked up four tackles for loss including a sack … earned a pair of quarterback hurries
AS A FRESHMAN (2022)
Made his collegiate debut against Boston College, recording an assisted tackle and a half tackle for a loss of three yards.
