Two former Hoosiers – Bryson Tucker and Mackenzie Mgbako – choose new schools
Two former IU players in the transfer portal have recently selected their next college home.
After Mike Woodson left the IU program at the end of the 2024-25 season, Darian DeVries was hired on March 18 and seven IU players entered the transfer portal.
Until this week, four of those seven players – Gabe Cupps, Malik Reneau, Jakai Newton, and Myles Rice – had selected new destinations to continue their college careers.
The two additional Hoosiers committed this week: Mackenzie Mgbako and Bryson Tucker.
Mgbako, a two-year starter at IU and a former McDonald’s All-American, announced for Texas A&M on Thursday night.
Over 65 career games for the Hoosiers, Mgbako averaged 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He is a career 32.8 percent 3-point shooter.
