Indiana circuit court grants Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt eligibility via temporary restraining order

IU football’s Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt are currently eligible for the 2026 season after an Indiana circuit court judge issued a temporary restraining order on Friday.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Mark Schlabach reported the news.

It’s unclear if Daley or Wyatt will play in Saturday’s opener against North Texas.

The 6-foot-1, 273-pound Daley played in 13 games for IU last season, including six starts. He transferred to IU from Kent State before the 2025 season.

An All-Big Ten honorable mention selection last season, Daley led the Hoosiers with 19 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

He missed the College Football Playoff after suffering an injury during the celebration following the Big Ten championship game win against Ohio State at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The 6-foot-2, 257-pound Wyatt started seven games for IU last season before missing the final nine games of the season following an injury he sustained against Michigan State.

He transferred to IU from Maryland before the 2025 season.

Wyatt had 12 solo tackles, eight tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks in the 2025 season. He was IU’s fifth-leading tackler overall with 27 at the time of his injury.
