Schedule released for IU basketball at the FISU America Games in Lima, Peru

A schedule has been released for IU basketball as it represents the United States at the FISU America Games in Lima, Peru.

Here’s the release from IU Athletics:

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Members of the men’s basketball program will represent the USA in the fourth edition of the FISU (International University Sports Federation) America Games in Lima, Peru. The event will feature 15 sports and span 13 days of competition from July 20 through August 1.

UniUSA will open group play against Peru, the host nation, at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 21, at the VES Sports Centre. The final group-stage contest will be played against the Virgin Islands at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 23, at the VES Sports Centre.

Elimination rounds will begin on Saturday, July 25.

A stream of the games is scheduled to be provided on YouTube.

About the Hoosiers

The Indiana men’s basketball program, under second-year head coach Darian DeVries, has brought in seven transfers in junior guards Markus Burton (Notre Dame), Darren Harris (Duke), Bryce Linday (Villanova), and Jaeden Mustaf (Georgia Tech), senior guard Justin Monden (Maryland Eastern Shore), and junior bigs Aiden Sherrell (Alabama) and Samet Yi?ito?lu (SMU).

The Hoosiers return sophomore forward Trent Sisley (4.2ppg, 2.8rpg) and brought in a four-man recruiting class of forwards Vaughn Karvala (Bella Vista Prep) and Trevor Manhertz (Christ School), guard Prince-Alexander Moody (St. Paul VI), and center Clemens Sokolov (Germany).
