Report: IU basketball to host Missouri on Friday, December 18

According to a report published Wednesday evening, a sixth non-conference opponent for IU basketball’s 2026-27 season is now known.

Jon Rothstein reported that the Hoosiers will host Missouri on Friday, December 18, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

The Tigers, a No. 10 seed in the 2026 NCAA tournament, finished last season with a 20-13 record. Missouri lost to Miami (FL) 80-66 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

In Bart Torvik’s projections for the 2026-27 season, Missouri is ranked No. 39 nationally. Missouri finished last season at No. 54 in KenPom.

According to Rothstein, “there will be no return game to Columbia as part of the agreement.”

Indiana had similar agreements the last two seasons for home games against South Carolina and Kansas State.

The all-time series between Indiana and Missouri is tied 9-9. The two programs last met on December 19, 2024, in Columbia. Missouri won 56-53.

The other known non-conference games for the Hoosiers next season are Eastern Illinois (Nov. 2), Bellarmine (Nov. 5), Syracuse (Nov. 9, Gainbridge Fieldhouse), Kentucky (Nov. 20, Lucas Oil Stadium) and Bowling Green (Nov. 27).

IU will also play exhibitions against North Carolina on October 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and against Western Kentucky on October 25 at the Ford Center in Evansville.
