Report: IU basketball to host Eastern Illinois next season
According to a report published Monday afternoon, a fifth non-conference opponent for IU basketball’s 2026-27 season is now known.
Alex Rosinski reported that the Hoosiers will host Eastern Illinois on Monday, November 2.
It will be the season-opener for Indiana. According to Rosinski, Eastern Illinois will be paid $115,000.
The Panthers, members of the Ohio Valley Conference, are based in Charleston, Illinois and finished the 2025-26 season with an 13-20 record under coach Marty Simmons.
Eastern Illinois ended the season at No. 324 in KenPom.
The Hoosiers lead the all-time series with Eastern Illinois 3-0. The two programs last met on November 10, 2024, in Bloomington. Indiana won 90-55
The other known non-conference games for the Hoosiers next season are Bellarmine, Bowling Green, Syracuse and Kentucky.
