IU football landed a commitment from Wisconsin safety Preston Zachman on Sunday morning, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot-1, 212-pound native of Elysburg, Pennsylvania, has one season of eligibility remaining.

Zachman appeared in 35 games for the Badgers and made 20 career starts. His 2025 season was cut short due to a leg injury suffered in a loss to Alabama and he appeared in just three games. He finished the 2025 season with 12 tackles and two interceptions.

In the 2022 season at Wisconsin, Zachman totaled 11 tackles along with an interception in six games before an injury ended his season.

Following a coaching change in Madison, Zachman remained with the program under coach Luke Fickell and was a standout in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Over 25 games across those two seasons, he made 17 starts, had 107 tackles, four interceptions and seven pass deflections. Zachman is considered a three-star prospect in the 247Sports transfer rankings.
