At Riviera Prep, Jenkins led the program to back-to-back Florida High School Athletic Association state championships.
As a freshman, he averaged 9.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game and last season as a sophomore, her averaged 13 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
In the latest 247Sports Composite rankings, Jenkins is regarded as the No. 21 prospect nationally and a four-star prospect.
Jenkins competed for Nightrydas Elite on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit over the spring and summer.
He is one of several class of 2027 players who have been invited to USA Basketball’s National Team October Minicamp Roster. Jenkins will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado, next month for the mini camp from October 10-12.
In addition to the IU offer, Jenkins also has scholarship offers from Arizona State, BYU, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Oregon, USC, USF, Villanova, Washington and West Virginia.
Here’s a recent scouting report on Jenkins from the OTE Elite pro day from Eric Bossi of 247Sports:
“Jenkins is already pretty ruggedly built for a junior. Checking in at 6-foot-9 and nearly 240 pounds, he’s pretty chiseled and knows how to use his strength. While he’s not necessarily the most explosive athlete in the lane, he’s got good length and is a cerebral player. Jenkins makes good reads as a passer, is crafty as a scorer, and really understands how to use his strength to his advantage.”
