IU basketball lands commitment from Serbian guard Aleksa Ristic
IU basketball has added a 12th scholarship player to its 2025-26 roster.
Serbian guard Aleksa Ristic has committed to the Hoosiers, according to multiple reports on Monday afternoon. Arman Jovic of PDT Scouting was first to report the commitment from Ristic.
The 19-year-old guard is 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds and played for KK Dynamic last season in the KLS, the top league in Serbia.
Ristic averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 39.6 percent on 3s and 86 percent from the free-throw line.
In the FIBA U20 Euros last year, Ristic averaged 9.4 points, 2.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per game. He was 9-for-24 on 3s in seven games.
In the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship, Ristic averaged 6.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in seven games.
Ristic will play for Serbia’s U20 team this summer. He will turn 20 in September.
Here are a few scouting notes, per Arman Jovic: “Ristic put together a strong season for KK Dymanic, producing ultra-efficient splits and a strong assist-to-turnover ratio. Aleksa’s a very strong, efficient lead guard who has grown to be one of the better shooters in Serbia, shot over 42 percent from 3 last summer in U20s. Indiana lands a terrific shooter in the 19-year-old guard.”
