How it happened
It was a stifling defensive effort to start Thursday’s game for Indiana. The Hoosiers held UNC Greensboro to five points over the first 11 minutes. But as IU’s offense stalled and the Spartans began to make shots, the lead dwindled to six at 26-20 with 4:03 in the first half. The Hoosiers stretched the lead back to 16 at 36-20 with 1:10 left in the half, but a 7-0 run from UNC Greensboro to close made it a competitive 36-27 halftime score in favor of IU.
