Report: Indiana to host Minnesota for Big Ten opener on December 9
According to a report published late Tuesday evening, Indiana’s Big Ten opener will be against Minnesota.
College basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported that the Hoosiers host the Golden Gophers at Assembly Hall on Monday, December 9.
This is now the third reported Big Ten date for the Hoosiers. Indiana will play at Nebraska on Friday, December 13 and against Penn State at the Palestra on Sunday, January 5.
Indiana swept the regular season series against Minnesota last season.
Minnesota finished last season 19-15 and lost to Indiana State in the second round of the NIT. The Hoosiers lead the all-time series between the two programs 109-69.
The Golden Gophers are currently ranked No. 71 in Bart Torvik’s 2024-25 season preseason projections.
