Kel’el Ware and Miami will play for NBA Summer League title Monday night
Former IU big man Kel’el Ware will play for an NBA Summer League title.
The 7-footer scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds on Sunday in a 102-99 victory against Golden State to advance to the championship of the 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas.
Ware was 8-for-15 from the floor in 23 minutes.
Miami will play Memphis at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN tonight.
Ware, the No. 15 pick in the 2024 NBA draft, has been one of the top rookies in the summer league for the Heat, who are a perfect 5-0.
The former IU big man is averaging 17.4 points, eight rebounds, 1.6 blocked shots, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 25.5 minutes per game.
Ware is shooting 58.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent on 3s and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.
