All of IU’s newcomers for 2024-25 season have arrived on campus

All of Indiana’s newcomers for the 2024-25 men’s basketball roster are now on campus in Bloomington.

Bryson Tucker, Kanaan Carlyle, Langdon Hatton, Luke Goode, Myles Rice and Oumar Ballo have all arrived and are participating in IU’s summer program. College basketball programs have eight weeks in the summer to work with their players. Indiana’s offseason program began last week.

Carlyle was the last of the newcomers to arrive in Bloomington.

Here are quick bios via IU on each of the new scholarship newcomers:


“2024 McDonald’s All-American… five-star prospect by both ESPN and Rivals… consensus top-30 recruit… ranked no. 17 on ESPN, No. 19 on Rivals, and No. 28 on 247Sports… helped lead USA Basketball to a gold medal in the 2021 FIBA Americas Championship by averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in the tournament… averaged 11.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in the 2023 Chick-Fil-A Classic… attended the NBPA Top 100 Camp in 2022 and ’23, Stephen Curry’s Camp in 2022 and ’23, the 2022 Under Armour Elite 24 Camp in 2022 and ’23, and Jayson Tatum’s Elite Camp in 2023… son of Byron and Tina Tucker… father, Byron, compiled 1,033 points, 595 rebounds, and 98 blocks in 66 career games while playing collegiately for NC State and George Mason from 1988-92 … a native of Bowie, Md.”


“All-Pac-12 Freshman Team performer… produced 264 points, 61 rebounds, 62 assists, and 32 made 3-pointers in 23 games (16 starts) at Stanford… averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game on .386/.320/.776 shooting splits in one season with the Cardinal… scored double figures in 15 games… recorded three games with 20 or more points scored.”


“Produced 574 points, 378 rebounds, 63 assists, and 45 blocks in 94 career games at Bellarmine and William & Mary… averaged 6.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game on 49.1% shooting from the floor, 32.7% from behind the arc, and 62.7% from the free throw line in three seasons with the Knights and Tribe… made 43 career starts… scored double figures in 27 games… posted six double-doubles… recorded 13 multi-block games.”


“Produced 314 points, 200 rebounds, 41 assists, and 85 made 3-pointers in 76 career games at Illinois… averaged 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 made 3-pointers per game on 38.8% shooting from behind the arc and 67.7% from the free throw line in three seasons with the Fighting Illini… scored double figures in 17 games… recorded multiple made 3-pointers in 25 career games.”


“A Freshman All-American and All-Pac-12 performer… produced 519 points, 108 rebounds, 134 assists, 56 steals, and 36 made 3-pointers in 35 career starts with Washington State… averaged 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on .439/.275/.811 shooting splits in one season with the Cougars… scored double figures in 27 games… recorded six games with 20 or more points scored… posted 13 games with at least five assists… compiled 16 multi-steal games.”


“A two-time All-Pac-12 First Team selection… produced 1,273 points, 867 rebounds, 109 assists, 76 steals, and 140 blocks in 132 career games with Arizona and Gonzaga… made 71-straight starts over the last two seasons for head coach Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats… averaged 9.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game on 64.6% shooting from the floor during his career… scored double figures in 73 career games… reached 20-plus points in eight games… compiled 34 career double-doubles… posted 36 multi-block games… won eight conference championships (4 regular season, 4 tournament) in the Pac-12 and West Coast Conference… held a record of 112-20 in games in which he played.”
