Indiana ranked No. 49 in initial KenPom ratings, ninth in the Big Ten

The new KenPom.com ratings are out for the 2023-24 season and Indiana will begin ranked substantially lower than a season ago.

IU is No. 49 in Pomeroy’s ratings, which is the ninth-highest rating for a Big Ten team. Last season, Indiana was No. 12 to start the season and finished No. 30.

The Hoosiers sit at No. 55 nationally in offensive efficiency in the preseason, according to Pomeroy, and at No. 43 in defensive efficiency.

Indiana finished last season ranked 28th nationally in offensive efficiency and 45th in defensive efficiency.

Indiana is projected to finish the regular season 17-13 overall and 9-11 in the Big Ten.

The top ranked non-conference opponents on Indiana’s schedule are Kansas (No. 2), UConn (No. 4) and Auburn (No. 15).
