Report: IU sophomore Kel’el Ware misses pro day with shoulder injury

Indiana held its annual pro day Friday for NBA scouts and all 30 teams were in attendance.

Long time college basketball writer Jeff Goodman spoke to an NBA executive who was present for the event.

According to the executive, sophomore Kel’el Ware did not participate due to a shoulder injury.

Here’s what the executive told Goodman on Ware, Mackenzie Mgbako, Malik Reneau and Xavier Johnson:

Kel’el Ware didn’t participate due to a shoulder injury. “He has a lot to prove this year – especially with his motor. He’s obviously talented, and someone will probably take him in the first round due to his upside.”

On Mackenzie Mgbako: “He shot it well, plays hard and has good size. He shot it very well from 3. I worry about his athleticism, but he also has a chance to be a first-round pick.”

On Malik Reneau: “Good passer, can score inside. He’ll be a good player for them. He’s gotten better and plays hard.”

On Xavier Johnson: “He looked like himself. My question is whether Indiana had another ball handler to help him.”
