Indiana ranked No. 12 in initial KenPom ratings, top team in the Big Ten

The new KenPom.com ratings are out for the 2022-23 season and Indiana will begin ranked in the top 15 nationally.

IU is No. 12 in Pomeroy’s ratings, which is the highest rating for a Big Ten team. Last season, Indiana was No. 31 to start the season and finished No. 48.

The Hoosiers sit at No. 22 nationally in offensive efficiency in the preseason, according to Pomeroy, and at No. 9 in defensive efficiency.

Indiana finished last season ranked 95th nationally in offensive efficiency and 24th in defensive efficiency.

Indiana is projected to finish the regular season 22-9 overall and 13-7 in the Big Ten.

The top ranked non-conference opponents on Indiana’s schedule are Kansas (No. 8), North Carolina (No. 9), Arizona (No. 10) and Xavier (No. 38).
