Class of 2024 Lutheran East (Oh.) and Indy Heat forward Jesse McCulloch added several high major offers this month.

The latest school to offer McCulloch is Indiana, which extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-9 forward on Wednesday.

Inside the Hall spoke with McCulloch about the offer, why his recruitment expanded this month, his game and more. Our complete Q & A is available below:

On his reaction to the Indiana offer:

“I was excited when I got a call from coach (Mike Woodson) and they just gave me the opportunity to go to Indiana.”

On the conversation and when Indiana became involved:

“Coach said when he watched me, he saw the improvement over the course of the summer. I started talking to them during the (EYBL) session in Kansas (early July).”

On the offers he earned this month:

“I got Wisconsin, Michigan State, Xavier, Butler, Virginia Tech. Before the summer, the only high major offer was Missouri. But after the summer, I got Michigan State and I started blowing up since then.”

On what changed in terms of high majors now jumping into the mix:

“Just my growth. I grew over the summer. I just kept putting the work in and it showed on the court.”

On the strengths of his game and what he’s trying to work on:

“I’m a great pick-and-pop, pick-and-roll big man. I can switch onto guards on defense and I’m a real gifted passer. I try to work on every part of my game. Ball handling, pushing the ball up the court so I can do everything the coach wants me to do.”

On what it’s like to get several new scholarship offers this month:

“It feels great, but at the end of the day, I know I’ve just got to keep my head down and keep working.”

On what else Indiana mentioned during the call and the potential for a visit:

“We talked for about 15 minutes. We were just talking about the opportunity they were giving me and when we could set up a visit. I’m going down there around the end of August. We’re trying to set up a visit.”
