Newton (Ga.) and Atlanta Xpress guard Jakai Newton was the first player to commit to the Hoosiers in the class of 2023 when he gave his pledge last fall.
The No. 71 player nationally in his class according to the 247Composite, the 6-foot-3 Newton was named second team all-state in Class 7A in Georgia this past season.
