Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis is declaring for the 2022 NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility.

Jackson-Davis, a second team All-Big Ten selection this past season, averaged 18.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game last season.

The 6-foot-9 forward could still return to school next season, but could now attend the NBA draft combine in May in Chicago if invited.

Whether or not Jackson-Davis receives a combine invite could reveal a lot about his draft stock in the eyes of the NBA. By declaring for the draft, he will also be eligible to work out for NBA teams and receive feedback.

Most of the current mock draft projections have Jackson-Davis in the second round or going undrafted.

Whether Jackson-Davis ultimately stays or goes is the biggest domino that will fall in the coming weeks regarding Indiana’s roster for the 2022-23 season.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the 2022 NBA draft is 11:59 p.m. ET on April 24. The deadline to withdraw from the draft while maintaining college eligibility is 11:59 p.m. ET on June 1.

The 2022 NBA draft is set for June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

This is the first time Jackson-Davis, a former McDonald’s All-American, has declared for the draft.
