Jordan Geronimo to return to Indiana for 2021-22 season

Indiana forward Jordan Geronimo announced Monday that he will return to Indiana for the 2021-22 season. He is the third player in the last four days to announce a return to Indiana after entering the transfer portal.

Geronimo appeared in 22 games as a freshman last season and averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game. He shot 55.6 percent on 2s and 40 percent on 3s.

Geronimo showed flashes of potential last season, although didn’t get consistent playing time. He helped spark the Hoosiers in an upset win on the road against Iowa.

Geronimo’s physical attributes, standing 6-feet and 6-inches tall, give him an extremely high ceiling if Mike Woodson can help develop him. Geronimo’s athleticism will likely allow him fit in well with Woodson’s free-flowing offense.

Since Woodson was hired, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Parker Stewart, Khristian Lander and now Geronimo have all announced that they are returning to IU. It was also announced today that Dane Fife will be added to the coaching staff.

There are now just two Hoosiers left in the transfer portal: Armaan Franklin and Race Thompson.
