Indiana extended a scholarship offer on Monday night to Bloomington South guard Anthony Leal during an in-home visit with the four-star guard.

Inside the Hall spoke with Leal following the visit to get his thoughts on the offer from the Hoosiers and his recruitment at-large.

Our full Q & A is available below:

On the conversation tonight with Archie Miller and Tom Ostrom and his reaction to the offer from IU:

“It’s a blessing. It’s so special to know that they believe in me. It was mostly just a conversation about how they admire what I have to offer as far as shooting the ball, competing and winning. They emphasized that to be able to do what they want to do at IU, they’re going to need shooter on their team. They really emphasized that and how I could fit in there.”

On the timing of the offer coming off the lone April evaluation period:

“Obviously I didn’t have my best weekend, but they knew from watching me dozens of times before, they knew what I was capable of. And they knew they were ready to pull the trigger on the offer, which means a lot.”

On whether there’s extra significance with this offer being from Indiana:

“Yeah, it means a ton. But every opportunity to play at the next level is a blessing. I’d just say being from Indiana and specifically from Bloomington, it’s definitely special for sure.”

On the schools who are prioritizing him at this point other than IU:

“I hear a lot from Stanford and Northwestern. And I’m starting to hear more from Virginia.”

On what he’s hearing from Virginia:

“Similar to what IU is saying. They like my ability to shoot and score the ball. And also play defense and just compete and win and kind of play how we saw Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome play throughout the tournament.”
