Indiana freshman guard Romeo Langford will not play in Tuesday’s NIT opener against Saint Francis (Pa.) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Langford, who hasn’t missed a game this season, injured his back in IU’s 79-75 Big Ten tournament loss to Ohio State on Thursday.

An All-Big Ten second team selection and a member of the conference’s all-freshman team, Langford is averaging 16.5 points in 34.1 minutes per game.

On Monday, Indiana coach Archie Miller said that Langford isn’t “shutting anything down.”

“He’s day-to-day with his back,” Miller said. “He tweaked his back in the first eight minutes of the Ohio State game. Has struggled with some soreness, really uncomfortable. He tweaked it.”
