Quick thoughts on a 76-70 loss at Iowa:

How it happened: Another game, another gut wrenching loss for Indiana. The Hoosiers have lost games in a variety of ways during the last seven weeks and Friday’s setback in Iowa City was the latest chapter in a season of disappointment. Indiana, fresh off of a two-point loss to Purdue at home, fought the entire game against the Hawkeyes. And with a six-point lead with 2:25 to play in regulation, it looked like Indiana might emerge victorious. But a few questionable whistles down the stretch coupled with Jordan Bohannon catching fire sunk the Hoosiers. Bohannon’s 3-point exhibition down the stretch and in overtime was the difference as Indiana lost its 12th conference game.

Standout performers: It was a balanced scoring effort for Indiana as Juwan Morgan had 15 points, Romeo Langford added 14, Rob Phinisee had 13, Evan Fitzner had 11 and De’Ron Davis had 10.

Statistics that stands out: Free throws were a major issue for Indiana as the Hoosiers shot just 12-of-22 from the free throw line. All of the misses were costly. Defensively, Indiana had nine steals and eight blocked shots.
