Saint Mary’s graduate transfer Evan Fitzner has arrived in Bloomington.

IU’s various social media accounts posted video on Tuesday of Fitzner taking place in a workout at Cook Hall.

The 6-foot-10 Fitzner is expected to be a key piece in Indiana’s frontcourt next season. Over 105 games at Saint Mary’s, he averaged 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds.

As the above video shows, Fitzner is a strong perimeter shooter who made 125 3s over three seasons for the Gaels. He is a career 41.5 percent 3-point shooter and his career effective field goal percentage is 58.8.

Summer League Update

The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas begins on Friday, but two former Hoosiers have already started play in the Utah Summer League.

Robert Johnson did not play in Atlanta’s opener in Utah, but the former IU guard scored four points and added a rebound and a steal in 14 minutes on Tuesday as the Hawks fell 103-81 to the San Antonio Spurs.

Christian Watford, meanwhile, didn’t play in either of the first two games for Memphis, which is 2-0 so far in Utah.

Bryant officially added to Wizards Summer League roster

Former IU big man Thomas Bryant, who was waived last weekend by the Los Angeles Lakers and then picked up by Washington on July 2, will play with the Wizards in the Vegas Summer League.

Washington announced its full roster on Wednesday and made note of the Bryant addition:

The Washington Wizards announced their roster that will compete in the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2018 in Las Vegas. The roster will feature 2018 first round draft pick Troy Brown, Jr. and recently acquired center Thomas Bryant and will be coached by Ryan Richman.
