Kid is tenacious (at least for these two minutes of highlights). He’s active on both ends. Good feet, long reach. Looks a little stiff in his upper body, but really good with the ball. Like what I see!

  • Ms hoosier

Does he not remind you of Jarod Jefferies

  • TomJameson

What struck me the most? His defense. He’ll do great in Archie’s system, will fit right in.

  • sd chuck

Good set of hands, active feet and defends the goal. He will get better as he gets stronger, I can see why he is being recruited so hard! Very important recruiting class! But they all are!

  • John D Murphy

Alex. When are you putting up the β€˜19 recruiting board?

  • HoosierStuckInKY

I’m pretty sure what TJD did to that kid around the 1:50 mark is a crime in some states.

  • WhatsUpKnight2.0

Hey one step at a time! We have to wait for the RL saga to complete! πŸ˜‰

  • BKLock

Watched him play against Romeo in the state tournament. He is going to be a good one and he really likes IU.

  • Hoosier Hall

Yes but not quite at that level.

  • ImYourHuckleberry

I want this kid worse than Romeo.

  • plane1972

Interesting comparison. They definitely resemble each other in stature. I think JJ was closer to 6’10” and seems a bit more athletic from the very little I have seen of TJD. But, that’s an interesting observation and would be considered high praise.

  • John D Murphy

When we had Jeffries, hasten, and newton on the front line we blocked everything.

  • Was thinking exactly the same thing. He even closed out to the perimeter and blocked a three-point shot. Wow.

  • plane1972

Yes, and they could score down low. That has to be one of the best and deepest front lines in Hoosier history when you add Leach, Odle and the smallest big of them all, Moye.

  • IU Hoosiers # 34, 1979-83

Add David Bell to that list and IU will have a great team.

  • VV

I was thinking the same thing. His posture as he runs the floor is eerily similar. Definitely has the look of a future Hoosier stud power forward…. and he’s still growing supposedly.

  • Koko

Well if Romeo comes to IU and plays one year then TJD won’t have much trouble filling RL’s shoes in terms of team impact and overall play.

  • Hoosier Hall

Even Moye got in on the shot blocking action!
