Class of 2018 New Albany five-star guard and IU recruiting target Romeo Langford finished with 19 points on Wednesday night as his East squad fell 131-128 to the West in the McDonald’s All-American Game at Phillips Arena.

Langford was 7-of-14 from the field, 2-of-4 from the free throw line and also had six rebounds, three assists, two steals and three turnovers in 21 minutes.

Here’s full highlights (via Frankie Vision) of Langford’s performance as well as a photo gallery (all photos courtesy of McDonald’s All-American Game) from his week in Atlanta:

Add in Romeo and the composition of our team is really nice:

    Scoring: Juwan, Romeo, Devonte, (Justin)
Ball Handling: Robert, Al, Devonte, Romeo
Interior Duties: DeRon, Race, Jake, Juwan, Justin
Depth: Al, Zach, Damezi, Jerome, Clifton
    Coaching: Archie, Ed, Tom

We also have another scholarship to fill. If I’m Romeo this is like being handed the keys to a Cadillac. Kansas is too crowded, Vanderbilt too young. IU is a perfect fit if I want to be featured on a REALLY good team.

I agree with you. Unfortunately what we find appealing and what he finds appealing may be completely opposite. He may feel strongly about playing with two other McDonald’s all Americans at Vandy. Garland is a premier guard and they have a good relationship from Ive heard and seen. Kansas is a winning program. Sure it’s loaded but it’s about to unload some top talent and open some big time guard/wing minutes. Indiana is to me a no brainer. Stay home Romeo. Please. Pretty please!

It was hard to watch this game, because it’s not even a game anymore. Nobody competes. I agree with J Will. Now you kids get off my lawn.

Kansas is reloading with several transfers that will be eligible this coming year along with a loaded recruiting class.

Yes they are but Romeo is talented enough to grab a starting spot there. If Kansas wins it all this year I can see Vick, Newman, and Azibuke (sp?) all leaving. Add that to graham and mykchiluke (sp?) and there will be major minutes up for grabs as I stated before.

Go to Indy sports partizan and check out what Romeo said about Indiana basketball last night after the McDonald’s game in an interview. I thought it was encouraging for IU fans

He probably is. Doesn’t change the fact that you have a ton of high level talent competing for minutes. Not nearly as many shots to go around at KU.
