Podcast on the Brink is back for a new episode with hosts Jerod Morris of The Assembly Call and Alex Bozich of Inside the Hall. The show is available weekly.

In the first segment of this week’s show, Morris and Bozich are joined by class of 2018 McCutcheon point guard and IU signee Robert Phinisee to discuss his senior season, his future in Bloomington and much more. In the second segment, Jerod and Alex talk more about Phinisee, Romeo Langford, Trayce Jackson-Davis and much more.

Among the topics discussed:

· What it was like for Rob to play so well individually but have his team come up short in sectional
· Rob’s thoughts on the environment at Seymour for the regional
· What Rob and Archie Miller discussed at Saturday’s games at Seymour
· Rob’s impressions of Archie Miller and what makes him a successful coach
· Offseason workouts for Rob and what he’s currently focused on in terms of improving his game
· Alex’s thoughts on the Seymour regional and the play of Romeo Langford and Trayce Jackson-Davis

SO…anybody still up to hire Steve Alford?

  • Lance76

I certainly don’t envy his position in dealing with Lavar Ball and family.

So glad Rob Phinisee coming to IU, I believe he and his classmates will improve the outside shooting of next years team. Rob, Damezi and Jerome all look like they can shoot from out, and I think that Race even has a outside shot.

i have to admit, it made me feel a little happier this morning when i saw they lost. tough to not have a little resentment toward KW, especially since he wore ucla colors to an iu fb game during one of his visits. karma’s a you-know-what!

    SURE! … but only as a shooting/FT coach 😉

the Ball family doesn’t have any affiliation with UCLA anymore

If I was Alford I would be relieved!!

  • We only had Jamie at one game this season of Rob’s, so from this season, no.

  • I like it. It’s reminder of how tough the kid is.

  • Yeah, I want to see you out there playing basketball a couple days after breaking your nose. I can see you now, talking to the trainer: “Bandaid?!? I don’t need no stinking bandaid! It’s still attached, after all!”

It’s like an homage to Brian Cardinal. He was as tough as they come. So tough, he played at Purdue for like 9 years.
