I very much appreciate y’all’s effort to pull in these perspectives from around the Big Ten. Fascinating to hear not only their takes on our program from the outside, but also their inside takes on programs we can only speculate on from the outside. Good stuff.

  • Thanks for listening.

There is some truth to there being excitement around our new coach, I’ve listened to Archie’s 6 second huddle bark,”You gotta start somewhere… you gotta start somewhere with an identity…PRIDE on three” a number of times. What I love about it is that its the opposite, or at least it gives the impression, from Crean where the message is simple and strong. I realize its only a 6 second clip but man, its what I’ve been wanting to hear for a long time. Simple, strong, and direct. Crean would confuse the crap out of me which is ok in a physics class but not when I’m drinking in basketball.

Couldn’t agree more. I thought that Brian was very good at discussing the upcoming season for the Boilers. Good discussion on their need to have a good class in 2018 with all the seniors moving on. I didn’t get the sense that Brian had much of a feel for where they are regarding recruiting. They obviously didn’t do much in the fall and that puts a lot of pressure on them to have a good spring signing period.

I think there is truth to the initial excitement theory. I also believe that Archie / IU surpass projections, finish top 6-8 range, that the excitement will be sustained.

  • Huh. I didn’t even know purdoo still had a men’s basketball team. Thought they had just given up a while ago. Learning something new every day here.

  • Totally agree. It’s unique and very worthwhile. Great to hear other perspectives, even if from Lafayette.
