Center Grove and Team Teague forward Trayce Jackson-Davis is an intriguing prospect in the class of 2019.

The son of former Indiana Pacer Dale Davis, Jackson-Davis helped lead Center Grove to a sectional championship as a sophomore.

Indiana and many other schools have taken an interest in Jackson-Davis, who is currently regarded as a 3-star prospect by Here’s a look at highlights from his play this spring on the adidas Gauntlet circuit:

Yeah, but does he have a game other than around the rim?

Might just be a poor highlight video, but I wasn’t impressed at all.

Things I learned: He can dunk.

I tried to find a few more videos, but it was all around the rim action. He does look like he has good handles, so that’ll be a help. He also looks like a good defender, and very athletic. He has a couple of B1G offers.

I would have shared a link, but I don’t have much luck sharing links in the public forum. No problem in the premium forum though.

So he needs to put on a lot more muscle if he is going to be like his dad.

  • Kyl470

His dad didn’t have much of a shot either. He was all defense and rebounding.

If he adds muscle like his dad he can be a banger on the inside.

I agree that it is hard to tell much from this film but I like the idea of a player that goes inside and finishes. Seems like all the bigs want to play out on the 3 point line these days. I would love to have a kid that works down low and finishes or draws fouls. I can see why Archie would look at a kid like this.

This is no worse than the highlight videos showing a guy receive a pass and then knock down an open jumper. Uhhhh yeah, it can’t be that hard to edit together all your makes and edit out the misses. This is one reason I wasn’t thrilled with Jordan Tucker; none of his highlight videos showed him doing anything.

I’m probably in the minority on this but would definitely be after this kid. He is an inside guy at 6′ 8″ a proven linage and under the radar.

I hope he has the enforcer mentality of his old man. Dale was tough as nails. I remember once Dennis Rodman tried to dance with him to get under his skin. Dale just gave him the icy stare and Rodman walked away. You don’t mess with Dale Davis, and hopefully his son has the same attitude.

Please for the love of God can we make a push for Tremont Waters. Will be the first true point guard (pass first) we will have had in a very long time. Yogi was a good point guard but a much better scorer. He didn’t have the handle this kid’s got, nor the intrinsic floor vision. Not saying he is or will be better than Yogi, Yogi was tremendous, but I believe having a true point guard will make our team light years better than the committee situation we had last year and more than likely this year as well.

Quick leaper. Good with both hands. 6’8″ as a sophomore so probably will be 6’10”. I think this kid would be a good addition. Loved his dad’s tenacity
