  • This will be tonight’s pre-game “warm-up.” Many thanks, as always. Never miss a single one, and looking forward to the celebratory post-game analysis.

That Forde article is a pretty good read.

  • WhatsUpKnight2.0

glad they discussed the issue with the teams fizzling out toward the end of the season these past few years. i really hope part of CTC’s newly acquired sense of inner peace translates to him easing up on the gas pedal a bit down the stretch.

  • why should they ease up on said pedal down the stretch? typo?

    Floor it!

  • twoturntables

If you listen to the podcast Forde actually refers to easing up at some points in the season to keep them fresh and really lay it on come February/March. He thinks Crean may drive them too hard during the season which burns them out towards the end.

  • mckillio

These intros are absolutely brutal, at best this podcast started at 2:45 and debatebly at 4+ – 5 minutes. That’s 11.5%-17%, ridiculous

  • SilentBob

Not usually a huge Forde fan, but he had some nice tidbits here. But Troy Williams as a breakout candidate? That’s a boring answer! Lol. But really Troys breakout season was last year. Now maybe as far as draft stock he is a breakout candidate, but improving as much as he did from freshmen to sophomore will be just impossible to match. Not to say he doesn’t have a lot he can improve upon, but I think it just gets lost in all the negatives of last year of just how good of a season Troy had.

  • who’syourhoosier

I haven’t listened to the podcast. I hope Troy is able to have a “breakout year”. I think it’s a 50/50. If he brings it all together this year, who knows what kind of player he is capable of becoming. I’m not saying it’s easy but there is a solid chance. Think of how inspiring it would be to practice every day and know that you will go to the NBA if you just keep working hard.

  • Nashville Hoosier

Every Podcast is different. I am sure Forde doesn’t have all of the time in the world either. I thought it was a good Podcast, even it was shorter than others….. good things is, you don’t seem to be a fan of them and you don’t have to listen anymore.

  • mckillio

I don’t think you got my point, the first 2:45 to about 5 minutes of the podcast is just an intro, no real content. The podcast itself is fine and I really liked this one actually but there’s no need for these ridiculously long intros.

  • Nashville Hoosier

Start of a new season, just wanted to update us on why the podcast was on a different day and inform people on where they can continue get any post game updates, especially since we have to pay to watch these first few games.

  • oh, that makes sense. he/she said “down the stretch,” so I took that to mean basically February/March. Haven’t listened to it yet.

  • SilentBob

I agree with you, but when I think breakout I’m thinking putting your name on the map and/ or having just crazy leaps in your metrics. That happened last year for Troy. I guess a good analogy would be if someone was asked at this time last year who they thought would be a breakout candidate and they said Yogi. Yogi was already an established star, kind of like Troy now. Nows it just about continuing to improve upon that.

  • twoturntables

They usually pay homage to a previous Hoosier teams (typically in more detail than this one) and do a plug for ITH. I like the intros. They are putting these out 1-2 times a week, ad-free,with great content and you’re complaining about a 3 minute intro?

  • SilentBob

Can’t watch the game tonight. I’m going to be like Jimmy Fallon in fever pitch, possessively covering my ears and mumbling anytime I hear someone mention the game between now and the replay tomorrow lol.

  • Knight Rider

Is Kermit the Frog announcing this game?
