Indiana will be well represented at this weekend’s adidas Global Nations in Long Beach, California.

Freshman Thomas Bryant, junior Troy Williams and senior Yogi Ferrell are serving as college counselors for the event, which runs today through Monday, August 3.

According to the event’s official website, the three IU players are on Team Mavs along with Antonio Blakeney (LSU), Nigel Hayes (Wisconsin), Mamadou N’Diaye (UC Irvine), Cat Barber (N.C. State), Aubrey Dawkins (Michigan), Isaiah Whitehead (Seton Hall) and James Webb (Boise State).

Adidas Global Nations, which started in 2007, features the world’s top 18-and-under players spread across nine regional teams: Africa, Asia Pacific, Canada, Latin America, China and the United States (Team Rose, Team Lillard, Team Noah, Team Wall).

Among the players IU is recruiting: De’Ron Davis, Rawle Alkins, Jarrett Allen, Hamidou Diallo and Trevon Duval. ESPNU will televise two of the final games of the event on Monday night at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

According to the event’s web site, Adidas Global Nation provides “a multi-faceted international curriculum featuring NBA coaches and players, as well as current collegiate players acting as camp counselors, which will provide invaluable insight and first-hand knowledge to the participants, illustrating the pressures, rigors and challenges that accompany the rise of any aspiring NBA star.”

College counselors will participate in scrimmages, which NBA personnel can attend. Will Sheehey was a college counselor at Adidas Global Nations in 2012, the same year Noah Vonleh was the event’s MVP.

Other Big Ten players participating include Dawkins, Hayes, Shavon Shields (Nebraska), Caleb Swanigan (Purdue) and Jake Layman (Maryland).
