  • 06/24/2015 7:27 am in

Podcast on the Brink is back for a new episode with host Jerod Morris of The Assembly Call. The show is now available each Wednesday during the offseason.

In this week’s edition of the show, Morris and Inside the Hall editor Alex Bozich are joined by Brendan F. Quinn, who covers Michigan basketball for MLive.com and the MLive Media Group. The discussion hits on the following topics:

· Max Bielfelt’s decision to finish his career at Indiana and whether it was a surprise to Quinn
· The reasons for Michigan’s lack of interest in Bielfeldt returning to the program for a fifth season
· Bielfeldt’s injury history, what type of player he is and how he will fit in at Indiana
· A look at Michigan’s roster for next season and where the Wolverines may stack up in the Big Ten
· Next season’s Big Ten hierarchy including which teams have the best outlook going into next season

As always, feel free to drop the show a note at [email protected].

I somewhat disagree with Brendan’s outlook on the Big Ten. I see Maryland, MSU, and IU as the clear top 3 preseason with MSU and IU pretty much at toss up level. Give the slight nod to MSU because they have proven it but I like IU’s ceiling. Then I would go into that next group he mentioned, followed by OSU and potentially Illinois then the bottom of the barrel.

I think Purdue will be in mix also.

Really like these podcasts, get quite a bit of detail that is difficult to pick up in other venues. Like he would think Michigan coaches are not to happy with his Indiana selection. That Max was not going to be a five year player and probably knew that before last year. Good at creating space down low, which IU lacked last year at times. Anyway great interview!

Max is just what the doctored ordered. I liken it to that feeling you get when a rusty old dump truck parks next to you at The Home Depot. You know its going to leave a mark. I imagine the opposing players having a similar feeling when Max enters the game.

Speaking of which, will Jordan Fuchs be playing basketball again? (and I still pine for seeing Darius Latham having 5 hard fouls to give.)

Good question that I don’t know the answer to but if I had to guess I’d say probably not. As for Darius “Big Business” Latham, don’t get me started. An Indiana High School All-Star in BASKETBALL and a 300 pound chiseled Big Ten defense lineman, pissed off beast…man, that would be fun to watch. I could see it now, Yogi takes a cheap fowl 2 minutes into the Iowa game and coach leans over and barks down the bench, “Darius, you’re up, set them straight”. A minute later 2 Iowa players go to the bench wide eyed claiming to be hurt or tired unwilling to play any longer.

I was finally over dreaming about Latham on the basketball team. Then I saw this…Thanks a lot .lol
