Lot’s of great shooting guards in IU’s past, James has a chance to join them! Not only does he have all the skills but his knowledge of the game comes from being taught by a great coach and player his father. We all need to appreciate him next year for there’s no doubt he’s a one and……

  • inadvertentelbows_stillhurt

Love JB..but he probably won’t be around for 4 yrs..need some players to step up around him big time next yr.

  • HoosierGrampy

I’m thinking he’ll be wearing stripes for at least 2 years: 1st yr adjusting to the B1G in terms of the physical nature of the league (which he touched upon in the interview) and speed of the game, and the 2d year tearing up the league.

  • Snookafly

He’s probably going to end up a 2-yr Gary Harris type player.

  • TrideandTrue

Can’t wait to see JBJ in candystripes next year!! His outside shooting should open up the offense and make it look like a totally different team….I’m hoping anyway!

Anybody watching SMU in the NIT? They are also in the running for Turner. Could be a legit top 10 team coming to B-town next year. Get ready JBJ and Co. Looking like a respectable non. con. next year.

  • Shaggy_C

They were a legit top 25 team this year and were completely hosed by the selection committee. One would hope they win the NIT just to spite the NCAA. Or, maybe I’m just still bitter…

  • Barancy Peloma

this guy is going to need to have jay edwards-level shooting skills for iu to even have an outside shot at anything more than the nit.

the likelihood that this past season will be repeated in the results column is pretty good. even if crean stacks the preseason with a weak schedule like last year, the Hoosiers will still have to face some good teams eventually and several of those teams will have a coach who prepares them to stop the transition game and force it into a half-court deal and we all know how that goes with 5-9 minute scoring droughts.

  • Snookafly

They may very well put it on us. Either way, I hope it’s an early season spark for our guys.

  • William Hagenmaier

    Don’t mention the NBA

  • David Macer

Shaggy, hate to break it to you, but the NCAA owns the NIT. They bought it several years ago to avoid anti-trust issues.

  • JetpackJunky

It would still spite them for dropping them out of the main tourney into the NIT and proving all of the critics correct that they deserved better. I don’t think ownership interest matters in that.

  • JetpackJunky

Thanks for having confidence in our team.

  • Barancy Peloma

well, I’m just calling it like i see it. i mean who do we have returning? we effectively have no center. (hmp still hasn’t shown much and does jurkin even count?)
tom crean can have all the faith he wants in the lord but i have no faith in tom crean.
