• I like Luke’s game a lot. More than I did a couple of years ago. You can tell he’s a lot stronger and more confident, although in this video he was playing against some pretty small teams. Either way, I think he looks good.

I saw on the twitter feed a few weeks ago that he is playing Volleyball and leads his team in kills. That has to be a huge boost to timing with block shots and rebounds. He also seems to like contact. I have a good feeling about Luke at IU.

Ja Ney Jackson is going to gt this kid as close to Cody Zeller as any other big in the class of 2013. He’s making giant strides.

  • I think the only thing that is keeping him out of the top 100 in recruiting right now is the fact that most scouts probably don’t think he is incredibly explosive. I kept thinking that he should have been dunking on those guys just to show them who is in charge out there but I still honestly love his style of play. The kid has great fundamentals and is smart defensively in terms of timing his blocks and having good position. He is going to be a great player in a few years.

It doesn’t matter where he’s ranked unless our coach can’t gauge talent…but he can and Luke is a really, really nice player. He says he wants to model his game after Cody and I can’t think of a better objective. We’re lucky to have him in the mix, adding BeeJay would be a nice complement, a banger 4 to complement a skilled 5.

Best tape I’ve seen of Luke. Always a lot of dunks on these highlite tapes..but I loved his left hand..finishing in traffic…a nice spin move and jumper..and a couple of face ups. When you look at how IU’s program has improved Cody’s strength, weight..verticle and general game…I think ‘ol Bo come Luke’s soph. year is gonna be crying in some of that good Wisconsin beer!:)

The thing you hear the most about Luke up here in Badgerland on the AAU circuit is the fact he just doesn’t try to do too much. He is longer than everyone else at this level so why do anything different? He is also a great kid to coach and great teammate.

During warmups he is draining three’s. He can run the floor. Is a student of the game.

Very Cody-like in his approach but he won’t have the same immediate impact. I think when he enters his SO season and has more strength he will be a factor if not a starter in our rotation.

I also think he’ll be a very annoying player to play against. He makes good decisions. In the pick and roll, he will make the correct read 20 times in a row.

A smart steady player like that can be very frustrating for opponents, and a rock for his teammates.

  • I really like this kid. He has a lot of different weapons and his game is smooth. Seems to have a higher understanding of the game than most of the kids around him. He’s going to be great in candy stripes!

  • MisterSlippery

If I had to describe his game, I’d call it “reasonable”

  • It wouldn’t surprise me if his stats aren’t as good if not better than CZ’s.

  • Looks like a smaller version of Cody
