Indiana’s non-conference road game against Louisville in December now has a tip time.

On Tuesday, the schools announced that the Hoosiers and Cardinals will tip at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the KFC Yum Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

The Forum Tipoff Classic in Southport is also on Dec. 9 and will feature the following games:

12:00 – Southport v Castle
1:40 – Lawrence North v Culver Academies
3:20 – Center Grove v Hamilton Southeastern
5:00 – Indianapolis Tindley v McCutcheon
6:40 – South Bend Riley v Pickerington North
8:30 – Fort Wayne Northside v New Albany

This is the second game of a three-game series with Louisville. The Cardinals won 77-62 last year at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The teams will meet again on Dec. 8, 2018 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Despite losing Donovan Mitchell to the NBA, Louisville is ranked in the top 10 in nearly every preseason ranking for next season. The Cardinals are ranked No. 5 by Athlon Sports and No. 9 by Lindy’s Sports.

Tip times for Indiana’s other marquee non-conference games have yet to be announced.

The Hoosiers will play at Seton Hall on Nov. 15 on FS1. IU will host Duke on Nov. 29 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and play Notre Dame on Dec. 16 in the Crossroads Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

So I’ve gone to the Crossroads Classic for the past four years and was looking at tickets for this year and it appears to ticket prices have gone way up. I’m not talking about the second hand sites like Stub Hub either. Has anyone else noticed this or am I imagining things?

Indiana plays at Bankers Life, usually how they play at Wisconsin. They suck there.

You’re correct, at least from what I’ve seen. I’ve been the past 3 years and was checking the other night and thought the exact same thing.

  • So, who from the coaching staff heads to the Forum Tipoff Classic to watch the recruits (i.e., Romeo)? (If that’s allowed during the timeframe, which I think it is…)

I live in Southern Indiana and I can’t stand UK and U of L ranks right up there with them. I would hate to lose to them again on National TV. I will have to admit L’ville always plays a very, very aggressive style of D. I hope with the limited time CM has with our boys they may be able to match up the D and mix it up enough to pull out the win. I’ve watch a lot of BB and do watch the local teams. In doing so, I really believe that the ref’s are so use to their style of aggressive D that they get away with a lot more than most teams. Just from what I’ve observed.

Since New Albany plays the late game I was wondering if Miller & Pitino share an Uber to Southport.

  • That sure would be efficient, wouldn’t it?

    LOL. Good spot!

If it’s done in the last minute of a game when you’re down by 15 points, who cares. To me that photo is the epitome of last season. A lot of sensation, but nothing to show for it.
Amazing that a team can have three NBA prospects and not even make the tournament. Hopefully those days are over
