Video: IU football coach Curt Cignetti stars in new commercial for State Farm

IU football coach Curt Cignetti is ready for his personal price plan.

Cignetti, who is 27-2 in two seasons in Bloomington, is the star in a new commercial released Wednesday for State Farm Insurance.

In the 30-second spot, Cignetti never breaks character as he talks with Jake, a long-standing recurring character in State Farm’s advertising campaigns, about the company’s offerings.

“So I can create a personal price plan to fit my life and budget?” Cignetti asks Jake. “I’m thrilled.”

The commercial, which appears to use green screens to show Cignetti in different spots talking with Jake, shows the coach outside of a home, in a home gym on an elliptical machine, in a living room near a home theater, in a driveway on a motorcycle and in a garden where he is sprayed by a hose and never flinches.

The spot ends with Cignetti telling Jake sarcastically, “I’m so excited, I can’t stop smiling about it.”

Except Cignetti, as is the case when he’s on the sidelines, never smiles in the spot.

With the 2026 college football season right around the corner and Cignetti one of the bona fide stars of the sport, expect to see the commercial in frequent rotation on broadcasts this fall.
