2026-27 IU basketball roster tracker: First portal departure confirmed for Hoosiers
Season one of the Darian DeVries is complete and the roster for the 2026-27 season has four confirmed players.
The Hoosiers finished the year one of the DeVries era 18-14 overall and 9-11 in the Big Ten. IU was picked to finish 10th in the Big Ten and did so. IU basketball missed the NCAA tournament for a third consecutive season.
The transfer portal opens on Tuesday, April 7. That, however, is a formality as players from across the country have already announced their intentions to enter the portal.
We are tracking all Big Ten transfer portal entries at this link. The list is updated daily.
Throughout the spring, we’ll track Indiana’s 2026-27 roster until it is complete. Here’s our third version of the 2026-27 IU basketball roster tracker:
Out of eligibility and not returning
Six IU players from the 2025-26 season are out of eligibility and will not be on the 2026-27 roster.
Tucker DeVries, Lamar Wilkerson, Tayton Conerway, Conor Enright, Reed Bailey and Sam Alexis were six of IU’s top seven scorers from last season and will not be on IU’s roster next season.
Confirmed to return for the 2026-27 season
Trent Sisley, who averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game in the 2025-26 season as a freshman, will return to Bloomington for his sophomore season.
He is the only confirmed returnee for IU basketball for the 2026-27 season.
Declared intent to enter the transfer portal
As of early April 2, junior guard Jason Drake is the only player from the 2025-26 roster who has declared his intent to enter the transfer portal. The news of Drake’s departure came on Wednesday afternoon via his agent.
Players cannot officially enter the transfer portal until Tuesday, April 7, unless a coaching change has occurred.
Eligible to return
Besides Drake and Sisley – the two players who have made their intentions known for next season – five players on Indiana’s 2025-26 roster have eligibility remaining beyond this season. Only two of those five players played regularly for the Hoosiers this season, and a third only played sparingly.
Here’s a quick rundown of the five:
Nick Dorn: A starter for most of the second half of the season, Dorn has one season of eligibility remaining after playing two seasons at Elon and one at Indiana. He shot 60-for-158 on 3-pointers last season, good for 38 percent. Of the players eligible to return, Dorn probably has the most value.
Jasai Miles: A fringe part of IU’s rotation, Miles has one season of eligibility remaining after playing two seasons at North Florida and one at Indiana. He showed limited scoring ability last season but did earn minutes in the second half of Big Ten play.
Josh Harris: The Florida native did not play this season at IU after suiting up as a freshman at North Florida last season. As a freshman for the Ospreys, he averaged 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Harris has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Aleska Ristic: The Serbian guard played sparingly for the Hoosiers this season and has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Andrej Acimovic: The Bosnian center redshirted the 2025-26 season and has four seasons of eligibility remaining.
Roster additions from high school
Indiana currently has three freshmen committed to join the 2026-27 roster.
The Hoosiers signed guard Prince-Alexander Moody and wing Vaughn Karvala last fall and landed a commitment from wing Trevor Manhertz in late January. The program has officially announced the signings of Moody and Karvala, and is expected to announce Manhertz this spring, as he committed in late January.
IU’s 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked among the top 20 classes nationally.
Roster additions from the transfer portal
Indiana has not yet added a player from the transfer portal. Thus far, the only players eligible to enter the portal are from programs that have undergone coaching changes.
The portal officially opens on Tuesday, April 7 and will be open for 15 days. Campus visits will not begin until Friday, April 10.
