IU basketball ranked No. 40 in preseason KenPom ratings, 11th in the Big Ten

The preseason KenPom.com ratings are out for the 2025-26 season and Indiana is No. 40 nationally.

The No. 40 ranking is the 11th-highest for a Big Ten team.

The Hoosiers started last season at No. 39 and finished at No. 45, missing the NCAA tournament for the second-straight season under Mike Woodson. Woodson left the program at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season and Darian DeVries was hired in March.

The Hoosiers rank No. 35 nationally in offensive efficiency and No. 41 in defensive efficiency in the preseason, according to Pomeroy.

Indiana is projected to finish the regular season 18-13 overall and 10-10 in the Big Ten.

The top-ranked non-conference opponents on Indiana’s schedule are Kentucky (No. 4), Louisville (No. 14), Marquette (No. 47), Kansas State (No. 61) and Incarnate Word (No. 174).
