IU football’s 20-15 win against Iowa on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium has the program on the rise again in the national polls.

In the latest Associated Press top 25 poll, released at 2 p.m. ET, the Hoosiers climbed three spots to No. 8.

IU was No. 20 in the first Associated Press top 25 poll of the season.

Ohio State is No. 1 in the AP poll followed by No. 2 Oregon. Penn State fell four spots to No. 7, Michigan fell one spot to No. 20 and Illinois moved up one spot to No. 22.

USC and Maryland both received votes.

In the latest US LBM coaches top 25 poll, the Hoosiers moved up three spots to No. 9.

IU was No. 19 in the preseason coaches poll and fell to No. 21 after its season-opening win against Old Dominion.

But the Hoosiers have been on the rise since the Old Dominion win and moved up five spots from No. 17 to No. 12 last week after crushing Illinois at Memorial Stadium.

Ohio State is No. 1 in the coaches poll followed by Oregon at No. 2. Other Big Ten teams in the coaches poll top 25 include Penn State at No. 6, Michigan at No. 20 and Illinois at No. 22.

USC, Maryland, Washington, Nebraska and Iowa all received votes.

IU coach Curt Cignetti is on the US LBM Board of Coaches for the 2025 season.

Indiana is idle this week before returning to action on Saturday, October 11, against Oregon at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.
